Accommodation at Lamai Fitness Retreat
One of the first questions people ask is “where will I stay?” Fair enough — you’re flying to the other side of the world and you want to know you’re not sleeping on a gym floor. Short answer: you get a proper private room included with every package, and you get to choose between two options.
Option 1 — Self-contained apartments on Fitness Street
These are our main accommodation and most guests pick them. They’re right on Fitness Street, which means you’re literally a two-minute walk from the gym, the café, the studios, and everything else. Roll out of bed, brush your teeth, and you’re at your morning session before you’ve fully woken up. It doesn’t get more convenient than that.
Each apartment has a private bedroom and bathroom, a queen-size bed, air conditioning, a balcony, a kitchen if you want to make your own bits and pieces, and an office lounge with a desk and chair — handy if you’re a digital nomad or need to check in with work occasionally. There are communal salas for hanging out with other guests in the evenings. WiFi is fast and consistent, which isn’t always a given on Thai islands.
The apartments also come with free daily access to LUMMA Spa, which has a swimming pool, and is a great spot for recovery days or just catching some sun between sessions. The whole setup is quiet, clean, and surrounded by jungle views. It feels like a retreat, not a hostel.
Option 2 — 4-star hotel
If you prefer a hotel setup, we’ve got that too. It’s about a four-minute walk from the gym — barely enough time to finish a podcast episode. You get a private room and bathroom, king-size bed, air conditioning, a balcony, and access to the hotel swimming pool. There’s 24-hour security, and the rooms are cleaned daily.
Some people prefer this option because they like the separation — training happens at the gym, and when they’re done they go back to a proper hotel where the only thing they have to think about is whether to sit by the pool or on their balcony. Fair enough. Both options work well, it just depends on what suits you.
The location
Both the apartments and the hotel are in the southern part of Koh Samui, in the Lamai area. It’s quieter than Chaweng up north — less nightlife, fewer crowds, more of a community feel. There are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, massage places and small shops within walking distance, so you’re never stuck for anything.
Lamai Beach is about five minutes on foot. It’s one of the best swimming beaches on the island — long, sandy, and not as packed as the more touristy spots. Crystal Bay is a similar distance in the other direction, smaller and brilliant for snorkelling, and it’s where our morning beach walks start. Those early mornings watching the sun come up over the water are one of the things guests mention most when they get home.
Behind the coastal strip, the land rises into jungle-covered hills. There’s proper hiking within minutes — including the Buddha Hike, a steep climb to a viewpoint with ridiculous panoramic views that we do regularly as part of the programme. The only cross-island road starts nearby too, a 15km winding route over the mountains to the north coast that cyclists and runners love.
Free airport transfers
When you land at Koh Samui airport, we pick you up. No messing about with taxis, no trying to explain where you’re going in a language you don’t speak, no getting ripped off. We bring you straight to your room so you can dump your bags, get changed, and start settling in. Same deal when you leave — we’ll get you back to the airport.
This is included with every package. No extra charge.
What people always ask
Is the WiFi reliable? Yes. It’s fast and consistent at both the apartments and the gym. You can video call home, work remotely, stream whatever you need. Thailand’s mobile internet is also excellent and dirt cheap — pick up a SIM at the airport or any 7-Eleven and top it up for next to nothing.
Do I have to stay at your accommodation? No. Some people prefer to book their own hotel or already have a place on the island. That’s completely fine — the training packages work the same either way. But staying with us is more convenient and means you’re around other guests, which most people end up appreciating more than they expected.
Are rooms cleaned? Yes, daily. Fresh towels, clean rooms, the basics done properly.
Can I arrive early or leave late? Check-in is at 2pm and check-out is at noon. We’ll always try to accommodate early arrivals or late departures when we’re not fully booked — just ask.
Have a look
We’ve got photos above showing both the apartments and hotel rooms. If you want to see the surrounding area, check out our live webcam at Crystal Bay — it’ll give you a pretty good idea of what you’re waking up to every morning.
