Exercise is good for us, that’s a given. We all know that physical exercise can help keep away illnesses that come from having too much excess weight on our bodies. However, sometimes getting motivated to do the exercise can be the problem.
We live in busy worlds nowadays, working long hours, worrying about money, trying to keep our homes clean and tidy, and it’s not uncommon for things to feel like they are getting to much. Depression and mental health are increasingly proving a concern for individuals who are struggling with the pressures of life. In fact, investing in your physical fitness can have a positive impact on your mental fitness. Exercise is a great way to beat stress, and the increased flow of oxygen that comes with exercise increases the endorphins in your brand – that’s the chemicals in your body that make you feel good.
It’s a catch-22 though really, when you’re feeling down, the last thing you want to do is a fitness class or go for a run, you probably couldn’t think of anything worse. This is where we believe a little bit of help and motivation goes a long way.
Lamai Fitness Retreat has a range of different fitness retreats that give people the opportunity to escape the realities of life for a while, to invest in themselves both physically and mentally. Our programs offer a range of workouts, training classes, and sports to get involved in, but they also take a holistic approach to your health and wellbeing. Each individual will have a mentor and a trainer to guide and motivate them through the program to talk about their life, their concerns and how to get the best from the program, and we also have classes on mental awareness, yoga, nutrition to build strength and capability across the mind, body, and soul. A healthy body is nothing without a healthy mind and vice versa – each needs nurturing equally, and we’re here to work with you so that together we can find the best way to help you get the most of your time on your fitness retreat and beyond.
In the meantime, the short take away from this is that physical fitness releases chemicals that make you feel good – so it’s double bubble, you are getting fit and getting a happy buzz too…what’s not to love about that…just think how happy you could be with a whole retreat worth of generating these happy feel-good chemicals!
