Frequently Asked Questions

Booking a fitness retreat comes with a lot of questions, especially if you've never done one before. We've answered the ones we get asked most often below — accommodation, training, food, travel, all of it. If your question isn't here, drop us a message and we'll come back to you within a day or so.
  • Who is here and why ?

We welcome all walks of life from professionals, digital nomads to people passing through taking time out of their career. Most of our clients come to reset, drop their shoulders and want to learn how to live with a balanced lifestyle. In general everyone here has the same goals who want to change their mindset & body ; its a very supportive place, all ages and working together. All classes are scaled so never be afraid of being out of your depth.

  • Can I come at any time in the year?

Yes, we are open all year round. February to June being the hotter months, November having more rain and cooler. The only day we close is Christmas Day throughout the year.

  • Where are you located?

On Koh Samui, in the local village of Lamai Beach, South Thailand.

  • How do I get to Lamai Fitness Retreat from my home country?

Most international guests fly into Koh Samui via Bangkok (BKK or DMK) or Singapore. Bangkok Airways operates the most direct flights to Koh Samui Airport (USM), which is about 25 minutes from the retreat by taxi. Singapore Airlines and Bangkok Airways also run direct flights from Singapore. Once you land, a taxi from the airport to Lamai costs around 500–700 THB and we’re happy to arrange a transfer if you let us know your arrival time in advance.

If you’d prefer a cheaper option, you can fly into Surat Thani Airport (URT) or Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport (NST) on Thai budget carriers like AirAsia or Nok Air. From there it’s a combined bus and ferry journey of around 3–4 hours to reach the island. Coming from Bangkok by overland route is also possible — overnight train or bus to Surat Thani, then ferry across — but most guests prefer to fly.

We’ll send you a full pre-arrival pack once you book, with detailed transfer instructions, what to pack, visa info, and our WhatsApp number for any last-minute questions on travel day.

  • How’s the weather and what do I need to bring with me?

A great all round temperature of 28-30 with the rain season generally in November and the hot season April. Light clothes, solid trainers and lots of training vests and shorts.

  • Do I need a visa to come to Thailand?

Generally all countries have a 30 day arrival and 30 day extension done at the local immigration office. For longer stays it may be worth getting a 3 month tourist visa.

  • Do you provide accommodation?

Yes, our resort accommodation is included. Its a great place, quiet. modern with very high speed internet and only 2 minutes walk to the main gym.

  • Is food included?

Yes, for the VIP weight loss & Over 50’s package its all inclusive for 7 days a week.

We focus on healthy and clean meals, which should prepare you for your work outs.

  • What are the payment terms?

    • To secure your spot a deposit of 25% is great.
    • The remaining amount can be paid on arrival during your first consultation.
    • The deposits are to be paid per bank transfer or WISE.
